As I grow in my ability to do graphic and web design I have found that a lot of tools on the web for designers aren’t really Christian friendly so I am always glad to find good quality christian websites for resources, help forums, etc. Lately I have been using three Christian sites that are great resources and I want to gladly spread the word about.
The first (I ordered these alphabetically not by how much I use one compared to the other) website that has been a great resource is CreativeMYK. Creativemyk is a what I would say is close to a Christian version of deviantart, I never felt comfortable being on deviantart because of some of the ungodly things on that website. So, now I have CreativeMYK to be my friend. Here is my CreativeMYK page.
The second Christian website that I use on a regular basis is Godbit. I will let them sum up what Godbit is “The purpose of this site is to help the Church catch up with the rest of the world in adherence to Web Standards given by the World Wide Web Consortium, the governing body of best-practices on the Internet. The majority of Christian web design agencies are using outmoded methods of coding to create websites that the rest of the world would scoff at. Basically, they are stuck in the 1990’s.” I regularly look to the godbit forum for help with web design critiques and for any help I might need with sites.
The last but for sure not the least is The GDFC the gdfc is… I’ll let them tell you who they are and what they do “The purpose and vision of GDFC is to represent Jesus in the graphic design industry. We want to use our gifts and talents to bring glory and honor to our God. We have an awesome group of designers from with many different styles and from many different countries. We are a family of believers with one goal in mind, the Gospel of Christ.” So they put it best, a family of believers.
In the end these are all great resources, that have helped me through the process of learning about and continuing to learn about graphic/web design.
school yay!

At this point in the year most of the schools in Colorado are getting out and summer break is getting closer and closer for them all the time. Yet, special kids who happen to be missionaries in Mexico don’t get out of school for another month. They (why I am I referring to myself in the third person?) get to slave through another month of physics tests, english projects, and wonderful math problems. So if you are in the U.S.A. enjoying your summer break or your soon to be summer break just think about me and my sister down here slaving away. Then go back to playing video-games or whatever it is you get to do on summer break. I have to go study for a physics test *sniff* *sniff* so have fun.
p.s. We are headed back to Colorado in the beginning of July so see you then maybe.
like a new computer

Last Tuesday my macbook started acting really slow and it would not turn off. So the next day I called Apple’s support line about the problem, the first time I called they ran me through a lot of diagnostic checks and resets. When that didn’t work they told me I needed to reinstall OS X Tiger so on Friday I finally got around to deleting everything on my computer and reinstalling it. Now its like a brand new computer, it’s way faster than it was before. I guess I didn’t realize how much slower it had gotten in the year since I got it. So right now I am reinstalling some of the stuff that got deleted off and making it more of “my” computer now. I just hope this time I can keep all my stuff better organized. So friday night I devoted about a hour or two just to organizing stuff. So now I have all my graphic design resources, projects, and other random files all organized instead of just put wherever I felt like putting them. So although I won’t probably keep up with it, at least it looks nice now right? Sorry this turned out to be a really be a really boring post, hopefully next time I can come up with something better.

Hey, welcome to my new website/blog, I designed this website myself with a little help on the wordpress implementation. So since this is my first post I will just kinda sum up what I will probably talk about in other posts that will come in the future. First off, I am horrible at grammar so I will have all kinds of grammar mistakes and I apologize for that but I guess thats what I get for “paying so much attention” to that in english class. Most likely I will just talk about whatever is on my mind on this blog, which is generally: God, what we are doing down here in Mexico, web/graphic design stuff, computers, and any other random thought that pops into my head. So be careful this blog will probably just be whatever is on my mind and then I will slap it onto the computer. Please feel free to comment on any of my blogs whether I said something you don’t agree with or if you just wanted to stop by and say “hey Zane”. Just a warning but I probably wont keep up on this, so try to hold me accountable if you have to. Thanks for reading this giant first post - Zane
