What is Awana?
Awana is an international, Bible-centered children's ministry and youth ministry providing local churches with weekly clubs, programs and training. Awana's goal is to equip churches and parents worldwide to raise spiritual champions who know, love and serve Christ using integrated programs for ages 2 to 18, resources for Bible-based parenting and discipleship, child and family evangelism and specialized volunteer training.
The acronym Awana comes from the first letters of Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed as taken from
2 Timothy 2:15.
How are we using Awana?
We are using a program called Oansa which is Awana, just the acronym is translated into spanish. At the beggining of the group we play games, and give points to the each team if they win a game. We then separate into groups by age and begin working on our Awana books studying, memorizing and reciting scripture. Then at the end of the day all ages gather back together we have one final lesson, and we announce the winning team who is given one prize per person.
