About

...it was as we were feeding the children I thought of Jesus saying,
"Let the little children come unto me."
Then I saw her.
Dark hair and big brown eyes, not yet 3 years old.
She came hesitating, with her brother and sister.
Her face was dirty, a face a mother hadn't washed.
But more importantly, a face a mother hadn't loved.
Yet I loved her.
I looked over her sweet little head and looked at all
the children crowding in for food and prayed,
"Dear Jesus, let us continue to love them in Your precious name
and allow us the privilege of bringing them to you."

Dear Partners in Christ,
It is with great joy and anticipation that we announce to you, we are responding to God's call on our family to return to Mexico and enter full time missions. It has been almost 2 years since we returned from our first trip, which changed our life drastically and amazingly. Over the past two years as a family, we have prayed fervently about this decision. We have even asked the Lord to remove the burning desire from our hearts if it is not His will for us to return and become full-time missionaries. As a result, we have become even more passionate about His vision for our family. Our focus will be on the 4-14 window, primarily reaching children from the ages of four to fourteen. Research states, that for every child that comes to know the Lord in that age bracket, in turn will bring six others to a relationship with the Lord. What a huge return on an investment for God's Kingdom. We will be working with an organization called Awana. The goal of this program is to reach children and youth that they might come to know, love and serve our Lord Jesus. Awana is a worldwide ministry serving more than 90 denominations. [To learn more go to http://www.awana.org/about/default.aspx?id=17]. Our own two children, Zane and Vanessa, will be an integral part of this ministry and are looking forward to serving together with us. We are not a missions couple but a missions family.
We would be honored for you to join us in serving the Lord in this ministry. We know many of you have had a heart for missions but are unable to devote your lives to full-time mission work. Perhaps you will allow us to go in your place. We are so grateful for you and your friendship. Would you be willing to join us in prayer, asking for God's hedge of protection and provision? Secondly, would you support us with your financial commitment, because we cannot do it without you? We also know the abundance of blessings in store for you as you join us in this ministry alongside us. You will become part of the foundation of this ministry as well as a regular name on our personal prayer list. We will be reaching out our hand linked in prayer and support with yours to feed, teach and love these children in the name of Jesus. Any donations that you would like to make can be made out and sent to New Covenant Fellowship (PO Box 247, Larkspur, Colorado 80118) with Mosaic Ministry in the memo and will be tax deductible. Please feel free to contact us at (303) 660-3534 or email info@mosaicministry.net .We don't know how we can possibly thank you enough, so we are asking God to!
Our sincerest and prayerful thanks.
In His service,
Lad, Aimee, Zane and Vanessa DeGraffenried
"Missions is not the goal of the church. Worship is. Missions exist because worship doesn't exist among many of the worlds unreached people groups. Worship is ultimate, not missions, because God is ultimate, not man. Worship therefore is both the fuel and goal of missions. Worship is the goal because we simply aim to bring unevangelized nations into the experience of worshiping Jesus themselves. The goal of missions, is making disciples of all nations, to produce not merely heaven bound human beings, but new God-worshipers. Worship is the goal of missions, but worship is also the fuel of missions. Passion for Jesus and worship precedes the offer of Jesus in preaching. You can't commend what you don't cherish.
So ~ Missions begins and ends in Worship!" - John Piper - paraphrased from Let the Nations be Glad
